I don't really subscribe to all the fad diets out there. But, here's some guidelines that I try to follow:

- Burn off more calories than you eat
- Have a "small stomach" by eating small portions per meal
- Eat a variety of foods
- Eat plenty of food with fiber
- Avoid overprocessed foods
- Limit desserts
- Prefer water over all other drinks
- Limit nutritionless drinks (soft drinks, coffee)
- Limit transfats
- Limit deep fried foods
- Limit refined sugar
- Take pure food vitamins
- Limit artificial additives, preservatives
- Fast one day (3 meals) per week
