2 Cor 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.

On Saturday, we were working on our backyard and putting in some bushes beside our concrete patio. As I was digging, I noticed a slug in the dirt. So I picked it up and put it on the edge of the patio with it pointed towards the edge. It then protruded out it eyestalks and looked around. Then it slowly turned around and headed away from the edge and towards the house. I guess the only thing it could see was the house, so it headed for that. It would've taken it at least half an hour to get to the house. And by then, it would've figured out there's no dirt there. And then died of a severe sunburn.

If it would've only just gone one inch straight from where I placed it, it would've fallen into the dirt and then be a happy little slug. But no, it had to turn around cause it couldn't see what was past the edge of the patio. I could see what was past the edge, but the slug couldn't.

This is how often we act when God tells us to do something. We stick out our eyes and can't see what is beyond. Since we can't see anything familiar, we turn and head the opposite direction of where God wants us to go. But, it often turns out for our hurt. If only we would just take that small step of faith and go where God tells us to go, then we can be blessed with God's goodness.
