With the debate on the Confederate flag, the KKK was brought up. Not knowing much about them, I did a little research.
The name Ku Klux Klan is based off the Greek word kuklos (“circle”). It was started in 1865 by former Confederate officers. They originally opposed Blacks, but now include Jews, Asians, Catholics, Indians, Homosexuals, basically, anyone who is not a “white Christian”. (Do they realize that Jesus Christ was a Jew?) During the 1920s, the KKK claimed a membership of 4 million. Currently, it is estimated that there around 5000 members in 109 KKK groups.
