One of the things I want to instill in my children is a love for books. This one thing alone will ensure they will have a good education. So, here’s some things I’ve thought about on how to impart in them a love of books:
– Let them see me read a lot.
– Have books everywhere in the house.
– Always say “yes”, when they ask if I can read a book to them.
– Visit book reading sessions.
– Visit the library weekly and let them check out some books.
– Visit bookstores and let them buy a book.
– When we have nothing to do, we go visit a bookstore.
– Read to them each day.
– Never make reading a chore, but a pleasure.
– Don’t force them to read, but provide plenty of opportunities for them to read.
