The winner of this year’s National Geographic Bee, Calvin McCarter, was unusual in two ways – he was the youngest (10 years old) and he was home-schooled. He won a $25,000 college scholarship and a lifetime subscription to NG. Third place winner, Erik Miller, was also home-schooled.
