In the US, one out of eight women will incur breast cancer in her lifetime. According to 2002 estimates, 203,000 women in the US will develop breast cancer and 40,000 will die from it. It tops the charts in number of new cancer cases for women (lung cancer is #2 with 79,200 cases per year). It is the second highest cancer related death after lung cancer in women (65,700 deaths).
I’m in the camp that a major reason for the large number of breast cancer incidents is the large number of women getting abortions. Here’s an interesting chart showing breast cancer cases skyrocketing after 1973 (when abortion became legal).
