There was a heated dialogue between Alan Williamson (JDJ Editor) and Marc Fleury (JBoss Creator), which eventually resulted in a peace pact between them (JDJ and JBoss: Two Influential Bodies in the Industry Today Cement a New Beginning).

And since we're considering using JBoss at work, I was interested in learning more about Monsieur Marc Fleury.

Via WSE2003:
Marc Fleury, Ph.D. is Chief Technical Officer for Telkel, Inc. He is the leader of the JBoss project, which is an Open Source EJB server. Marc is based out of Silicon Valley and founded the project upon leaving Sun Microsystems. He was one of the main developers behind jBoss 1.0 and 2.0. He is the "keeper" of the project. He founded the jboss group, a company regrouping the elite developers of jboss to consult around jboss. Marc is a graduate of the French Ecole Polytechnique with a degree in Mathematics and holds a Ph.D in Physics for work done at MIT as a visiting scientist.

Via CJUG:
Born in Paris in 1968, Marc started in Sales at Sun Microsystems France and then transitioned to engineering. After working in SAP development while at SUN he got bored and started JBoss. Marc currently serves as the President of the JBoss Group, LLC, based out of Atlanta, GA. A graduate of X, and an ex-Lieutenant in the paratroopers, he has a master in Theoretical Physics from the ENS ULM and a Ph.D in Physics for experimental work he did as a visiting scientist from X at MITs RLE. Marc enjoys the family/extended family feel to the Open Source business model. He is dedicated to making JBoss Group the dominant web-app server company.
