This morning our daughter, Sarena, woke up at 4 AM complaining for a sore throat (“wo de bozi tong tong”). She was also hot all over and crying about her pain. When finally she cooperated with taking her temperature, it was 101.3 under her arm.

After taking her to the doctor this morning, they diagnosed her with step throat. And then proceeded to give us a prescription for some antibiotics. They said after taking antibiotics for 24 hours, it won’t spread to anyone else.

If it weren’t for the fact that she was hot all over, we probably would’ve thought it was just a sore throat. So, fortunately we were able to get her on antibiotics early.

Some serious problems, though rare, can occur from strep throat (rhematic fever, nephritis, or scarlet fever) if left untreated.
