Food Industry Mulls Dropping Obesity-Linked Trans Fats from Kuro5hin.

The industrial food production industry is beginning to wake up to the problems of trans fats – which crop up in significant quantities in a very wide variety of foods including hard margarine, crackers, chocolate bars, cereals, baked goods and more.

It’s almost impossible to find any processed foods in the grocery store without hydrogenated oils. About the only place is in the health food section. It’d be a nice change if there were more foods made without hydrogenated oils. It’s a major reason why I avoid a lot of processed foods (as well as the preservatives, additives, artificial color, artificial flavors, and artificial sweeteners).
