On Memorial Day, our family went to an American Indian Powwow at the Gwinnett Country Fairgrounds. The attendance was sparse and it was mostly just some booths selling Indian related trinkets. But it was interesting learning a little bit about American Indians. One interesting trivia that I learned was that Indian reservations are all owned by the Federal government, however, tribes are considered sovereign nations. There was also a dreariness at the entire event which reflected how oppressed the American Indians are.
