Every year, our neighborhood has a block party where the kids get to play together and we all get to stuff ourselves with food and desserts. If you drive through our neighborhood, you wouldn’t guess that it’s a pretty active neighborhood. All the lots are pretty big and the houses are set back. There’re no sidewalks and no clubhouse. There are lots of trees and it’s not convenient to go from one house to the next. But, the residents here maintain pretty close relationships, esp considering how today’s culture does not value neighbors. Our family isn’t really the extrovert type, but through the Block parties, Easter Egg hunts, an active Yahoo group, Bible studies, we’ve been able to enjoy having relationships with our fellow neighbors.
